{"id":1174,"date":"2020-11-06T22:31:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T22:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/?p=1174"},"modified":"2020-11-24T16:02:50","modified_gmt":"2020-11-24T16:02:50","slug":"opportunities-expand-as-hornady-completes-merger-with-btc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/other-news\/2020\/11\/06\/opportunities-expand-as-hornady-completes-merger-with-btc\/1174\/","title":{"rendered":"Opportunities Expand as Hornady Completes Merger with BTC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Wright Media staff<\/strong><br><br>Fourteen months after it was announced by Daseke Inc. as part of a company-wide operational plan, Hornady Transportation has announced it has completed a successful merger with Builder\u2019s Transportation Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"165\" height=\"160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/hornady-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1177\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The merger was announced in August 2019 and went into effect Oct. 1, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headquartered in Monroeville, Ala., Hornady has been in operation since 1925 with a familial legacy. The merger gives it a second terminal in Memphis and further diversifies its freight mix while strengthening its service of the building materials, steel, oil and gas industries with a fleet of 406 late-model tractors and 605 flatbed trailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BTC is a steel, aluminum and metal products carrier. Hornady\u2019s terminal in Birmingham supports the building materials and steel industries east of the Rockies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe merger goes beyond numbers,\u201d Hornady CEO Chris Hornady said in a news release announcing the completion of the merger. \u201cWe\u2019re bringing together two innovative organizations who have a shared vision and trust in one another. We look forward to the positive changes to come and value our team members\u2019 support in this transition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"276\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/better-hornady-truck.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1178\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The added freight mix also has allowed for additional capacity and added staff in Monroeville, expanding drivers\u2019 career opportunities with Hornady as it continues to prioritize individual customer needs.
