Pride Transport boosts driver pay, Averitt Dallas associates give back, Schneider wins award<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Pride Transport has given its drivers a significant boost in pay just in time to enjoy the holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Effective Dec. 1 driver pay at the family-owned and operated Utah-based carrier increased\u00a04 cents per mile with an additional 4 cents per mile for two years\u00a0as part of its\u00a0$10,000\u00a0sign-on\u00a0bonus\u00a0payout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200b\u201cThis is an exciting announcement,\u201d Pride Transport\u2019s recruiting director Steve Schelin said. \u201cWhat does that mean for a driver coming to Pride Transport<\/a>? Our\u00a0base pay rate\u00a0is 45 to 47.5 cents per mile and then we\u00a0add so many extras.\u201d

\u200bThe $10,000 sign-on bonus is paid out in $100 weekly increments over two years.\u00a0The company also has a\u00a0401(k) program that matches contributions by\u00a0a whopping\u00a020\u00a0percent. It offers driver pay for layover, breakdown and stops, plus guaranteed detention as well. Drivers also enjoy paid\u00a0holiday\u00a0and vacation time, affordable healthcare plans and paid orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pride Transport has 100 percent no-touch refrigerated freight, state-of-the-art equipment, and pet and rider programs. In 2019 it celebrated 50 years of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Averitt Express’ Dallas team gives back<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truck drivers and other associates at Averitt Express\u2019 Dallas service center recently used some friendly competition to donate more than 7,500 pounds of food to charity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants divided into three teams to see who could contribute the most food to Mission Arlington. After the final tally, The Driving Force team came out on top with 2,790 pounds, edging the Hunger Heroes (2,490) and Helping Hands (2,285) for a total of 7,565 pounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was part of Averitt\u2019s Team Up Community Challenge, which encourages associates to \u201cteam up\u201d to give back to local communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat a great job by all of our team in Dallas,\u201d Dave Millea, the Dallas service center director, said. \u201cEveryone had a great time being a part of this event, and I could not be more proud to be a part of this team.\u201d

Schneider Repeats as General Mills\u2019 Platinum Dry Carrier of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second year in a row Schneider has been named Platinum Dry Carrier of the Year by General Mills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual award recognizes a carrier that goes above and beyond in a number of categories, including on-time service metrics, teamwork, creative solutions and interactions with the global food company.
