{"id":547,"date":"2019-11-13T17:24:11","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T17:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/?p=547"},"modified":"2019-11-13T19:17:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T19:17:46","slug":"isaac-named-tmc-september-trainer-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/other-news\/2019\/11\/13\/isaac-named-tmc-september-trainer-of-the-month\/547\/","title":{"rendered":"Isaac Named TMC September Trainer of the Month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>DES MOINES, Iowa \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;David Isaac started at TMC Transportation on Valentine\u2019s Day 2014 and has been in love with the Black and Chrome ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The veteran TMC driver spent eight years in the military and transitioned into his job while still enlisted because, he said, TMC &#8220;was the only flatbed company that stood out to me, especially the company being employee-owned.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>After driving on his own for a year and a half, he caught the bug to teach and quickly moved into a role as a trainer.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThere are multiple ways to do one job,\u201d he said, \u201cbut I wanted to make sure that the end result is what is required of our company standards.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>That approach has served him well and recently TMC named him Trainer of the Month for September.<br>\u00a0<br>Driver trainers are vital to the TMC training department and each month one is chosen who demonstrates the outstanding qualities TMC looks for in a trainer. The monthly winner is chosen based on their safety record and the safety performance of their trainees, the number of drivers trained and the retention percentage of those drivers.<br>\u00a0<br>TMC is the nation&#8217;s largest employee-owned flatbed transportation company, providing services and supply-chain management solutions throughout the 48 contiguous states. The company\u2019s claim-free, on-time delivery record is consistently recognized by its customers.<br>\u00a0<br>When it comes to his training style, Isaac takes a supervising role, letting his trainees do as much as they can on their own but under his watchful eye. His favorite part of training is meeting other drivers and helping to be a part of their success.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cI feel like this is the best way for them to get a feel of what it will be like once they have their own truck,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s great to see new guys do well \u2026 You can learn even while you\u2019re teaching, whether it be a load you wouldn\u2019t normally or discovering a more efficient way to do things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/truck-driving-jobs\/company\/tmc-transportation\/7B3Q5uUjwr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Click here to find available jobs at TMC Transportation.
