{"id":732,"date":"2020-03-17T21:50:32","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T21:50:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/?p=732"},"modified":"2020-03-18T13:11:14","modified_gmt":"2020-03-18T13:11:14","slug":"montgomery-entities-operating-at-full-capacity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/other-news\/2020\/03\/17\/montgomery-entities-operating-at-full-capacity\/732\/","title":{"rendered":"Montgomery Entities Operating at Full Capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Al Muskewitz<br><\/strong>&nbsp;<br>While companies across the country are wrestling with ways to keep their businesses going through the challenge of the coronavirus crisis, one Alabama trucking company is reassuring its customers its workforce is there for them at \u201cfull capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/unnamed-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-740\" width=\"323\" height=\"97\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/unnamed-4.png 409w, https:\/\/www.hiremaster.com\/trucking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/unnamed-4-300x90.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 323px) 100vw, 323px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Montgomery Entities CEO Rollins Montgomery sent an email to all the Birmingham-based flat-bed carrier\u2019s customers Tuesday (March 17) to eliminate any uncertainty about their commitment to keeping their link in the supply chain moving.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe want to inform you that as of today \u2026 the Montgomery Entities are operating at full capacity with the same values or safety and service that you\u2019ve come to expect,\u201d Montgomery wrote in a highlighted portion of the email. \u201cWhile we continue to monitor the safety of our employees as it relates to COVID-19, we are also committed to our customers and our industry.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>Montgomery has approximately 600 drivers and 100 office personnel through all of its entities \u2013 Montgomery Transport, RM Logistics Inc., Montgomery Logistics, MT Select and MT Dedicated. While the drivers are out on the road, the staff will continue to report to the office \u201cuntil further notice,\u201d and in the event of a change the company has invested in technology to allow the office staff to work remotely without interruption of service.<br>\u00a0<br>The company also is developing an electronic Bill of Lading format so drivers can enter a customer\u2019s facilities with a complete hands-free approach, further reducing the risk of spreading the virus. Marketing director Anna Lacy McMains called it an \u201cA-plus-plus item\u201d that would be a positive for Montgomery and its customers and an element other companies could adopt.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe are well positioned to continue to support you throughout these challenging times,\u201d Montgomery wrote.<br>\u00a0<br>Sadly, there has been one casualty of the virus. Out of an abundance of caution, service from the company\u2019s popular Breaker One-Swine food truck has been temporarily discontinued. The company\u2019s Driver of the Year event also is likely to be postponed.<br>\u00a0<br>To illustrate its commitment to being an industry leader in the fight against COVID-19, Montgomery also provided its customers with a list of precautions its employees are taking to ensure a safe and responsible work environment.<br><br>Among them are practicing social distancing, regular hand washing and driver-centric practices such as wiping down all truck surfaces pre- and post-trip including areas that might get overlooked like gearshifts and using sanitized personal pens for paperwork and latex gloves if available.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cIn good and challenging times, the Montgomery Entities is committed to helping you keep your business moving forward,\u201d Montgomery wrote. \u201cTogether, we will overcome these obstacles through proactive communication and teamwork.
